These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of DropPin Vault (the "App"), developed by Erik Brown. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.

1. What the App Is

DropPin Vault is a location-saving utility that lets you snap a photo or drop a pin to remember a spot (most commonly where you've parked) and find your way back to it later. It stores your saved spots, photos, notes, and tags locally on your device, with an optional feature to back that data up to your own Google Drive account (see the Privacy Policy for details on how that works).

Optional features may include Automatic Parking via Bluetooth disconnect, Active Tracking with live notifications, home-screen widgets, an optional Wear OS companion, and optional Motion & Fitness assist. Core Pin / Snap / Vault features work without those extras.

2. Your Responsibilities

Accurate use: You're responsible for how you use the App, including relying on it to locate a vehicle or other saved spot.
Your Vault data: Spots stay on your device by default, and optionally in your own Google Drive app-data folder if you enable backup. You are responsible for securing your device and Google account, and for how you rely on that data.
Your Google account: If you choose to connect Google Drive backup, you're responsible for the security of your own Google account and for staying within your own Google Drive storage limits. The App cannot back up your data if your Drive account is full, locked, or its access has been revoked, and it is not responsible for managing your Google account on your behalf.
Permissions: Features that need location (including background location), Bluetooth, notifications, Wear sync, or motion/fitness only work when you grant the relevant Android permissions and keep the related settings enabled.
Lawful use: You agree not to use the App for any unlawful purpose or in a way that violates the rights of others.

3. Optional Premium

Premium is an optional one-time unlock through Google Play Billing. It is not a subscription. Save and find stay free: Premium does not paywall Pin, Snap, Vault, Auto-Park, Compass, Everyday widgets, sharing, or other tools used to save a spot or get back to it. Google Play handles payment; Erik Brown does not receive or store your credit card number. Refunds follow Google Play's policies. Premium unlocks optional polish only: visuals (themes, Look Packs, splash styles, themed share cards, and similar Appearance options), haptic patterns beyond the free default, and a few Premium widgets (Premium Dashboard, Vault Favorites, and Tag Filter). Listed price may vary by region and can change for future purchasers.

4. Optional Helpers: Bluetooth, Motion & Wear

Automatic Parking (Bluetooth disconnect), optional Motion & Fitness assist, and the optional Wear OS companion are helpers only. They can miss a disconnect, fire late, or be limited by device battery settings. The same rule as GPS applies: you are responsible for how you use the App, including verifying a parked spot when it matters. Core Pin, Snap, and Vault work without these helpers.

5. "As Is": No Warranty

The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. That includes, without limitation, any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't guarantee the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your specific expectations.

In particular, and without limiting the above:

GPS and location accuracy are not guaranteed: Location coordinates, addresses, and navigation guidance come from your device's hardware and Android's location and geocoding services. These can be inaccurate, delayed, or unavailable. Examples include parking garages, dense woods, city canyons, tunnels, or when background limits, battery optimization, or missing permissions prevent a timely fix. You are responsible for how you rely on GPS, including verifying a spot when it matters. We do not guarantee that the App will lead you back to your car or any other spot, and we are not liable if you cannot find a vehicle or place after relying on the App.
Data loss or corruption: While the App is built to store your data reliably, we don't guarantee against data loss from causes including device failure, storage corruption, operating system issues, app updates, uninstallation, or user error. If you rely on Google Drive backup, restoring a backup depends on Google Drive's own availability and your account being in good standing. We cannot guarantee a successful backup or restore in every circumstance.
Photos and attachments: The same applies to photos and any other content you save in the App.

We strongly recommend keeping Google Drive backup turned on (or otherwise exporting your data periodically) if the information you save in the App is important to you.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Erik Brown shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, loss of use, time, travel costs, or inconvenience, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the App. That includes, without limitation, lost or corrupted Vault data, a failed or corrupted Google Drive backup, inaccurate GPS/location information, a missed Automatic Parking save, or an inability to locate a vehicle or other saved spot, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Where liability cannot be fully excluded under applicable law, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid, if any, to unlock Premium or otherwise use the App (or, if you paid nothing, zero).

7. Third-Party Services

The App's optional backup feature relies on Google Drive, and sign-in relies on Google's account and identity services. Premium purchases rely on Google Play Billing. Your use of those services is also governed by Google's own terms and privacy policy, which we don't control and aren't responsible for. The App may also use other Google services (such as Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics for diagnostics and basic app-activity signals, Android's system geocoding service, and Wearable APIs for an optional watch companion) as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, and branding, is the property of Erik Brown and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use the App's name, branding, or code outside of using the App itself as intended.

You retain full ownership of the content you create in the App. Your photos, notes, and saved locations remain yours.

9. Changes to the App or These Terms

The App may change, be updated, or have features added or removed over time. Premium pricing and contents may change for future purchasers. These Terms may also be updated; if a change is meaningful, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may discontinue the App or any of its features (such as Google Drive backup support or Premium offerings) at any time, though we'll aim to avoid doing so abruptly where reasonably possible. Uninstalling does not automatically refund a Premium purchase; refunds follow Google Play's policies.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Mississippi, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
